«Go back »Print Version

A newly established committee held its first meeting on 9 January in Vienna.

Technical Refereeing Committee

Refereeing matters have always been considered to be an integral part of the game by the European Handball Federation.

In order to guarantee high level refereeing all over the European handball courts, various programmes have been targeting referee- and delegate education with a special focus on young referees and female referees.

To take the subject to the next level, the EHF Executive Committee made a decision to set up a new specialised body. The EHF Technical Refereeing Committee (TRC) has been called into being to serve as a kind of think tank contributing to the further development of the European refereeing standards.

The EHF Technical Refereeing Committee held its first meeting on Friday, 9 January in the EHF Headquarters, Vienna.

The chairman of the committee is Sándor Andorka, responsible for refereeing matters within the EHF Competitions Commission.

On Friday, the chairman and the four members, Carol Domenge (FRA), Bjarne Munk Jensen (DEN), Jiri Konecny (CZE) and Dragan Nachevski (MKD) had an opportunity to discuss working structures and objectives of the TRC.
