Israel prepare for Challenge Trophy Final

The third and final day of the 2010 IHF/EHF Women’s Challenge Trophy saw Israel take on Cyprus in Group 2 of the regional tournament. Israel thrilled their home crowd by easily taking the match away from Cyprus in the 6th edition of the competition. This game finally decided the tournament as Israel won all three of their matches; Cyprus finished 2nd, Armenia 3rd, Malta 4th.

On 11 December 2010 in Aalborg, Denmark, and within the framework of Women's EHF EURO 2010, Israel will meet the winner of Group 1. The regional tournament in Estonia will begin on 2 April in Viimsi, Estonia. The winner of this match will take part in the IHF Intercontinental Challenge Trophy, where they will meet teams from other Continental Federations.

On closing the event, EHF Representative Tarik Cengiz of the Executive Committee and President Doron Simchi of the Israel Handball Association paid homage to all the athletes from the countries of Armenia, Cyprus, Malta and Israel who participated with passion.
