Conference, draw and celebration: women’s handball in the focus
Odense will be the capital of women’s handball on the weekend on 4-6 June 2010. A number of important events will take place in the Danish city including a sport strategic conference, the EHF EURO 2010 Final Tournament draw and the 75th anniversary celebration of the Danish Handball Federation.
EHF Competitions Conference for Women’s Handball
The European Handball Federation will continue the tradition of organising strategic conferences aiming at the development of certain highlighted areas. Following the lasting results achieved at the Youth Handball Conference in 2006 and the EHF Competitions Conference for Men’s Handball, EHF will bring together handball professionals once again.
The EHF Competitions Conference for Women’s Handball will take place on 4-6 June 2010 in Odense, Denmark.
The conference will be attended by high profile professionals from various levels such as from National Federations, National Leagues and clubs. Coaches, players will be involved in the discussion just as marketing, media or other experts.
The aim of the event is to initiate further development of the women’s handball “product”. The conference will be an opportunity to discuss ways of revitalising the sport and making women’s handball even more attractive and successful.
The potential of dialogue
The EHF is confident that the positive results of the 2008 Men’s Competitions Conference can be repeated, which was seen as a step forward in the promotion of club and national team competitions, the EHF Champions League and the EHF EURO Events in particular.
75th anniversary
The Danish Handball Federation is looking back at a highly successful history of 75 years. In the run up to the EHF EURO 2010 that will take place in December in Denmark and Norway, the Federation decided to celebrate the great occasion with an international friendly.
On 5 June 2010 at 16:15hrs the women’s National Team of Denmark will receive Norway in the Fyn Arena of Odense.
