EHF Executive Committee meeting in Copenhagen

On the occasion of the 10th Ordinary EHF Congress, that will take place from 24th – 25th September 2010 in Copenhagen, Denmark, the EHF ExeC held a meeting, including the following members:

Following the reports of the Finance Delegation, the business report of the Secretary General and the reports of the Technical Commissions, a number of decisions were taken.

Technical initiatives

The contracts of the Infrastructure Support Programme were agreed upon. Details of this initiative will be presented to the Congress during the Friday session. The S.M.A.R.T. Programmes (=Specific Milestones Accepted Realistic Time-limited) were confirmed.

EHF Women’s Champions League

The ExeC also confirmed that a workshop, dealing with the matter of the EHF Women’s CL, will be organised on the occasion of the Main Round draw on 23 November 2010.

Beach Handball

The European Beach Handball Championships in 2011 are to be carried out as a project at a single venue for Younger Age Categories as well as senior players (men and women) together. The event will be announced for bidding in the near future.

Meetings in 2011

The EHF Meeting Calendar 2011 has been finalised. The ExeC decided to organise a 20th anniversary celebration for the European Handball Federation on 17 November 2011, which will be accompanied by a conference for handball professionals.

In addition to the above decisions, the focus of the ExeC members was on the 10th Ordinary EHF Congress coming up in the next two days in Copenhagen.
