«Go back »Print Version

The groups for the qualification were drawn on 25 September 2010 in Copenhagen.

Women’s 19 ECh 2011 Qualification Draw

At the occasion of the 10th Ordinary EHF Congress, the six groups with four teams each of the qualification to the Women’s 19 European Championships in the Netherlands 2011 were drawn.

Five teams – Netherlands (organiser), Denmark (1st of the 2009 W17 European Championship), Russia (2nd of the 2009 W17 European Championship), Norway (3rd of the 2009 W17 European Championship) and France (4th of the 2009 W17 European Championship) – have already qualified.

Eleven teams from the qualification tournaments will join them at the final tournament. This will be the all six group winners plus the five teams ranked second in the groups 1-5.

The right to organise the Women’s 19 ECh 2011 qualification tournaments was awarded to the teams drawn into row 2. As teams which were awarded with the right to organise the 2009 Women’s 19 European Championship qualification do not have the right to be the organiser again, this gives us the following right holders:

Group 1: Serbia, Group 2: Switzerland (as Germany was the organiser the last time), Group 3: Estonia (as Sweden was the organiser the last time), Group 4: Israel, Group 5: Ukraine, Group 6: Bulgaria

If the national teams in row 2 of each group decline to organise the tournament, the right is passed on to the teams in row 3, then row number 1 and finally row 4.

The eight tournaments will take place on 22 – 24 April 2011, the final tournament is played in the Netherlands on 4 – 14 August 2011.
