2011 YAC Beach Handball Euro completed

The 2011 European Younger Age Category (W19/M19) Beach Handball Championships took place in Umag/CRO between 30 June and 02 July 2011. For both tournaments, Women’s 19 and Men’s 19, eight national teams each participated. Hungary (Women’s 19) and Croatia (Men’s 19) are the winners of the second Younger Age Category Beach Handball European Championships.

Women’s 19

The teams of Hungary, Ukraine, Croatia, Switzerland, Turkey, Norway, Serbia and Russia were drawn into two Preliminary Round Groups. According to the results, the teams were then divided into two Main Round groups, taking points from the earlier stage with them.

After the Quarterfinals, four teams played for places 5-8 in cross matches, the other four teams met in Semi-finals and Final matches on 02 July 2011.

Senior tournament to follow

Following the Younger Age Categories, the 7th Beach Handball European Championships for Women and Men will also take place on the Croatian coast in Umag. The event starts on Monday, and will be carried out from 04 to 09 July 2011.
