Wide range of topics and plans for the coming year discussed at EHF headquarters
EHF Commissions and Technical Delegation Meeting
EHF headquarters in Vienna played host to a busy round of meetings over the weekend 17-18 February as the EHF Competitions Commission (CC), Beach Handball Commission (BC), Methods Commission (MC) and the Technical Delegation met to discuss this year's plans.
Commission members from across Europe arrived in the Austrian capital, to discuss a range of different issues and plans within their individual commissions.
For the Competitions Commission topics for discussion included an initial review of the EHF EURO 2012, held in Serbia from 15 to 29 January and also regulations for the new Men’s EHF Cup, which will launch from the beginning of the season 2012/13.
The Beach Commission dealt with upcoming competitions, with the 2012 YAC Beach Handball European Championship taking place in Batumi, Georgia from 6-8 July 2012 in focus.
A joint meeting with the IHF Beach Handball Working Group was also held to discuss matters which concern both organisations as they work towards improving the sport at a number of levels.
The Methods Commission met to discuss a wide variety of topics ranging from EHF development projects (ISP and SMART), women's handball, technical issues and handball at school activities.
The next round of commission meetings is scheduled for the 27 and 28 April 2012.
