Club owner resigns at AGK

AG Kobenhavn announced on Friday 13 July that Jesper Nielsen, owner and chairman of Danish champions AG Kobenhavn is to withdraw from all his posts within the club and sell his shares in the club.

Commenting on AGK’s website, Jesper Nielsen said:  “It has been a fantastic journey to proceed with my childhood club from the fifth league to the Danish title and the VELUX EHF FINAL4 in seven years. I am proud to have helped set new standards for Danish top sport. But now others will take over. “

According to the announcement club director Sören Colding now is in charge for seeking new owners together with the Nielsen family.

”We have some potential investors in the pipeline,” Nielsen was quoted on the website.

“It is hard for the team, that Jesper and his family will not be part of this project anymore,” AGK goalkeeper Kasper Hvidt said.

AGK reached the VELUX EHF FINAL4 in Cologne in May 2012 and ranked third in the end, in their first ever season in VELUX EHF Champions League season.
