Serbian national coach leads RK Zaječar to the Qualification Tournament

Saša Bošković, the coach of the Serbian national team, supports the national champion RK Zaječar on their way to the WOMEN’S EHF Champions League Qualification Tournament in September.

The board of the Serbian Handball Federation has accepted the demand for assistance from the three times consecutive Serbian champion. Bošković will now support the team during its preparation and help RK Zaječar achieve the qualification to the WOMEN’S EHF Champions League.

The tournament will be played on the weekend of the 22 - 23 September and will probably be staged in Cluj Romania.

RK Zaječar will play against the Russian team Rostov-Don in the semi-final of the Qualification Tournament.

Whereas Saša Bošković will be occupied with the women’s team, his assistant from the national team, Živojin Maksić, will be responsible for RK Zajecar's youth categories.

Two new players at RK Zaječar

For the first time in the history of the club, a Ukrainian player has been signed to the team.

Lilia Gorilska (24) comes from HC Astrahanocka, Russia.

The 188cm tall left back can play all three back positions.

An interesting fact is that last year’s captain Jelena Erić left RK Zajecar to join HC Astrahanocka.

Moreover, the Serbian team will have four Spanish players in its squad for the upcoming season.

After Marta Mangue, Nuria Benzal and Begona Fernandez, the fourth Spaniard to make her way to Serbia is right wing Jessica Alonso Bernardo (29). Bernardo previously played for the Spanish champion S.D Itxako.

The Spanish national player will share her position with Aneta Peraica from Croatia.
