Draw procedure for 2013 Women's 17 European Championship

The draw for the qualification groups for the 2013 Women's 17 European Championship will take place in Vienna, Austria, on 23 October 2012 at approximately 14:00 hrs.

33 nations have entered for the tournament that will be played in Poland from 15 to 25 August 2013. Poland as the organising nation have already qualified.

A total of 32 teams will therefore play in the qualification and vie for 15 open places which will be decided in qualification tournaments.

Draw procedure

There will be eight groups of four teams each. From Group 1 to 7 two teams will qualify, one team will qualify from Group 8.

The teams are seeded to the following pots based on the ranking of the 2011 Women's 17 European Championship in the Czech Republic and the respective qualification.

Pot 1: Denmark, France, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Russia, Sweden

Pot 2: Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Slovakia

Pot 3: Belarus, Bulgaria, Iceland, Lithuania, Montenegro, Slovenia, Turkey

Pot 4: Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Italy, Latvia, FYR Macedonia, Serbia, Switzerland

The draw for the teams having the right to organise the qualification tournaments, which will take place from 22 to 24 March 2013, will take place after the draw for the qualification groups.
