EHF Executive meets in Belgrade

The EHF Executive Committee met on Friday 14 December, ahead of the final weekend of the Women’s EHF European Championship in Serbia. This was the first meeting to take place with all 11 members of the committee, including the recently nominated chair of the Women’s Handball Board, Lidija Boljic-Cacic (CRO).

The Executive dealt with reports of the finance delegation, technical commissions, Professional Handball Board and Women’s Handball Board. There was also a report on 2012 finances and the Executive were updated on on-going legal cases.

Technical Refereeing Committee approved

The nominations to the Technical Refereeing Committee were approved by the Executive. From 22 names put forward by member federations, the proposals of the Compititions Commission Chairman, Leopold Kalin, and member for refereeing, Dragan Nachevski, were accepted.

The newly nominated members are Helmut Wille (AUT), Viktor Poladenko (RUS) and António Goulã (POR). Special tasks were assigned to Henrik La Cour Lausen (DEN) with responsibility for the EHF Young Referees Programme and Möna Förström (FIN) with responsibility for the women’s handball programme.

Anti-Doping

The EHF Executive Committee approved the budget for the new EHF Anti-Doping Unit from 1 January 2013.

Competition

The EHF Executive reviewed the event and competition programme for the period 2013-2018. It also confirmed the decision to award the Final Tournament for the newly re-launched EHF Cup to Nantes on 18/19 May 2013.

The meeting was informed of proposals for future changes in the Women’s EHF Champions League competitions system.

The decision of the European Olympic Committees to organise the European Games in Baku in June 2015 was discussed.

Women 19 European Championship 2015

An analysis of five bids for the event were presented and discussed. The committee decided to award the event to Portugal from 23 July - 2 August 2015. The venues for the event will be Odivelas and Espinho.

EBT Masters 2013

The European Beach Tour ‘Masters’ finals in 2013 was awarded to Croatia. The event will take place in Umag, Croatia in June 2013.

EHF EURO

The EHF Executive discussed the on-going EHF EURO in Serbia and agreed that the EHF commissions would provide an anaysis of the event.
