Cooperation agreement signed with EUSA

Representatives of the European Universities Sports Association (EUSA) visited the EHF Office in Vienna on Wednesday, 6 March 2013 to conclude a cooperation agreement between their association and the EHF.

The President of the EUSA, Mr Adam Roczek, and General Secretary, Matjaž Pečovnik, met with EHF President, Jean Brihault, and Secretary General, Michael Wiederer.

The agreement sees a continutation of a cooperation, which is intended to further develop and popularise handball amongst European universities as well as to improve the organisational and technical standards of the EUSA handball competitions.

As part of the agreement, the EHF will provide referees through its Young Referees Programme for the European Universities Handball Championships.

Commenting on the signing of the agreement, EHF President, Jean Brihault, said: “The European Universities Handball Championships provide the perfect platform for our young referees to gain international experience, refereeing players of a similar age to themselves. There is a great fit between our needs and those of the European University Sports Association.”
