After having won the Danish league, FC Midtjylland have now qualified for the semi-finals of the championship play-offs, where their opponents may well be runners-up Team Tvis Holstebro.

On Saturday the two teams meet in the first leg of their all Danish EHF Cup semi-final tie.

“The fact that two Danish teams have got this far in Europe serves to prove that our league is still very strong, I think. Considering the fact that the two teams know each other so well, I think that focus and concentration will be deciding factors, and that the first match may be very decisive,” Denmark international Trine Troelsen from FC Midtjylland told eurohandball.com

In France, things are also going fine for the girls in skirts – Metz Handball who lead the French league with six points to Fleury Loiret in second position. Metz will undoubtedly bring a lot of self-confidence with them into Les Arenes de Metz, where number three in Romania, H. C. Zalau will be the opponent in the late afternoon Sunday.

However, the Romanians, under almost legendary coach Gheorghe Tadici, are not likely to be an easy task for the French top team who will probably need a rather clear home win in order to be able to withstand the pressure in the return match.
