We are rapidly approaching the throw-off for the 2014 Men's EHF European Championship in Denmark.

From 12 to 26 January next year 16 European teams will show the very best handball has on offer in their quest for the sport's European throne.

With the event reaching the 100-days-to-go-mark in the first week of October and to whet the fans' appetite, eurohandball.com has started publishing 100 reasons why you should not miss out on this highlight of the 2014 handball calendar.

The reasons will be published in groups of 10 over the coming days and every day one reason will also be published on the event's official Facebook page.

While some are truly sports-based, some have to be read tongue-in-cheek, but overall they will give a picture why the 2014 European Championship is worth a visit.

For anyone who can't wait to be part of the Men's EHF EURO 2014, tickets are just a click away.

Here come reasons 71 to 80 why you should not miss out on the Men's EHF EURO 2014:

Reason 71: To see three of the past four Men’s EHF EURO top scorers: Kiril Lazarov (MKD) who scored 61 goals at the EHF EURO 2012. Czech Republic's Filip Jicha netted 53 times at Austria 2010. Siarhei Rutenka, now playing again for Belarus, stroke 51 goals for Slovenia in 2006. The 2008 top scorer, Ivano Balic (44 goals), has not been nominated recently for the Croatian national team.

Reason 72: To be part of the final tournament that concludes the very successful career of Danish coach Ulrik Wilbek, who will become the Danish Handball Federation's sports director in July next year.

His successor will be Gudmundur Gudmundsson who currently coaches VELUX EHF Champions League participants, Rhein-Neckar Löwen.

Reason 73: To celebrate the first Men’s EHF EURO on Danish courts after Denmark hosted the Women’s EHF EURO already on two occasions (1996 and 2010 as joint hosts with Norway).

Reason 74: To watch a big number of players from the current VELUX EHF Champions League winners, HSV Hamburg, such as Domagoj Duvnjak (CRO, pictured above), Hans Lindberg (DEN) or Andreas Nilsson (SWE).

Reason 75: To enjoy the Danish easy way of living.

Reason 76: To visit the nation that also hosts of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.

Reason 77: To experience some royal glamour as Denmark is the fourth nation to host a Men's EHF EURO that has still a vivid monarchy. The other three are Spain (1994), Sweden (2002) and Norway (2008).

Reason 78: To find out, why Croatian top star Domagoj Duvnjak is nicknamed “Dule”.
