France claim the top spot and semi-final berth

The second semi-finalist of the EHF EURO 2014 has been confirmed on the fourth Main round day as France clinched the top position of Group II in Aarhus. The reigning Olympic winners made it five wins from five matches as they beat Belarus easily 39:30 in the highest scoring game of the tournament.

The team of Claude Onesta had to wait for the final result of the last Tuesday's match. Poland showed a sensational comeback against Sweden as they turned a five-goal deficit into a massive victory 35:25 ousting their rivals out of the semi-final race.

Poles could rely on a miraculous performance of their reserve goalkeeper Piotr Wyszomirski.

In the first match of the day Croatia defeated Russia 33:25 and the deciding game for the second Group II ticket will be played between Poland and Croatia on Wednesday.
