DRAW REVIEW: Three former winners of the Women's EHF Champions League learnt the names of their opponents in the Women's Cup Winners' Cup Quarter-finals

Defending champions meet Byasen in the quarter-final

Norwegian club Byasen Trondheim is the next opponent of the the four-time EHF Champions League winners Hypo Niederösterreich in their attempt to defend the Cup Winners' Cup trophy after Tuesday's draw determined not only all four quarter-final pairings but also the semi-finals fixtures.

The draw took place at the EHF Office in Vienna and was carried out by the EHF Secretary General Michael Wiederer together with Fred Kusserow, the Secretary General of the European Police Sport Union.

"There are no easy opponents within the best eight left and we are going to meet a team with a lot of fantastic players. Many of them either play for the Norwegian national team or have played until recently. Byasen play fast handball, we have to study them and prepare the best way we can to go on and defend the title," commented Hypo coach Morten Soubak.

Besides Hypo another two former EHF Champions League winners learnt the names of their quarter-final rivals. Three-time champions Viborg HK will face the 2011 and 2012 winners of the Cup Winners' Cup, FTC Rail Cargo Hungaria, and 2008 Champions League winners Zvezda will meet the French league runners-up Fleury Loiret Handball.

In the last quarter-final Russia's Rostov-Don will play against Germany's Buxtehuder SV.

The first quarter-final leg is scheduled for 1/2 March, the second leg will follow one week later (8/9 March).

The first leg matches of semi-finals will be played on 5/6 April and second leg on 12/13 April.
