Hard work starts in earnest for defending champions

The players and coaches of European top flight are making the headlines again, and all for the good reasons. High spirits in Podgorica as season draws near

Women’s EHF Champions League winners started their pre-season in high spirits. A signal that everything is working flawlessly in Podgorica are two weddings this summer. After Milena Knezevic, her teammate Kinga Byzdra also decided to tie the knot. Byzdra and her husband Lukasz Achruk marked the occasion with a video.

In continuation of his long-term project at Buducnost, Dragan Adzic has pledged his future to the club from Podgorica. The new deal will keep the Montenegrin tactician and the two-time EHF Champions League winner at the place of his greatest success until 2020.

Vardar hopeful of continuing success

HC Vardar began their preparation for the new season. The hard work is going on outdoors at the Filip II Arena in Skopje. Vardar girls are training hard form day one, hopeful of another EHF FINAL4 appearance.

Meanwhile, Indira Kastratovic put pen to paper and sealed her two-year contract extension with the club. Charismatic coach Kastratovic lead Vardar to their second consecutive MVM EHF FINAL4 appearance last term, and the ambition to build on the results was firmly behind the decision to extend contract with the Macedonian powerhouse.

“I am very happy to have been given the trust to lead a great club like Vardar for two more years. We are one big family and that kind of synergy proved vital in deciding moments. I expect Vardar to show even better results – ones that would bring joy to everyone associated with the club, as well as me as a coach,” said Kastratovic.

Hard work starts in earnest for Kielce

Vacation is over for the VELUX EHF FINAL4 participants KS Vive Tauron Kielce. The players of the Polish powerhouse are working hard on their fitness at the athletics stadium, while many of the stars are practicing both indoors and outdoors in Kielce to regain fitness for the upcoming challenges.

The Lions’ pit

The team affectively known as “The Lions” gathered in mid-July, and went to Slovenia for the pre-season preparation. Zagreb boys hit the gym in Rogla Slovenia, in preparation for the friendly game against the national team of South Korea. The 26:19 win would keep their spirits high in anticipation of the new season, in which Veselin Vujovic is expecting a lot to be excited about.

“Forget about the last years’ Zagreb. It is time for us to prepare some new surprises,” said Vujovic.

Györ girls in full strength again

After missing out on the better part of the season through injury, Eduarda Amorim is training with the team in anticipation of the new season. Duda was spotted smiley and happy as ever, after practice with her teammates old and new, ready to bring a lot of joy to Györ fans.
