All 12 European teams make it to Last 16

The Women's Youth World Championship in Slovakia has proven successful ground for the European participants so far.

All 12 European squads that entered the 24-nation tournament are still in the race, with four all-European duels coming up in the Last 16 on Wednesday.

Denmark, winners of the Women's 17 EHF EURO 2015 and one of the hot medal favourites, topped Group D in convincing fashion, winning all their five matches. They now face Romania, who came fourth in Group C, in the Last 16.

The other group winners were Russia in Group A, Hungary in Group B and Korea in Group C. Russia now play against Spain, Hungary face Angola and Slovenia are up against Korea.

Tournaments hosts Slovakia finished third in Group D and face Norway, the second ranked team from Group C, in the Last 16.

The remaining Last 16 encounters include France vs Egypt, Brazil vs Croatia and Germany vs Sweden.

All Last 16 encounters take place on Wednesday, 27 July. The quarter-finals take place on 28 July, the semi-finals on 30 July and the final on 31 July.
