Scientific conference goes social media with its own hashtag

With only one month to go until the upcoming EHF Scientific Conference 2017 in Vienna (17-18 November) the organisers from the European Handball Federation and the Union of University Handball Teachers reveal several important updates on the conference.

The goal of the Conference is to bring professional and scientific experts together in order to reflect on all aspects related to the player’s environment (such as health science-, training science-, technology support), as well as to continue the acquisition of knowledge about medical aspects in our sport.

The programme of the conference with Scientific Approach to the Player’s Environment - From Participation to the Top as the main theme has been updated (click here for the full pro-gramme), while the social media coverage of the whole event has also been arranged and the conference's own hashtag #ehfSC have been introduced.

Five keynotes have been adopted by the Preparatory Conference Committee, while no fewer than 56 abstracts for article publication have been received (40 for oral presentation, 14 for poster presentation and two for publication in the 3rd EHF Scientific Conference Book).

A booklet with all the abstracts will be provided to all Conference participants at the accreditation desk prior to the Conference. The EHF Scientific Conference 2017 Book of Articles (conference documentation), which will be published after the Conference, will include the full articles of all oral and poster presentations, as well as the additional articles that have been provided but will not be presented at the Conference.

The Organizational Committee would like to thank all authors and co-authors for their article contributions.

Social Media coverage

There will be extensive social media coverage throughout the conference. Updates on the event (like live interviews with the participants) will be posted on the EHF CAN Facebook page and on the EHF Media Twitter account. Everyone can get involved in the online discussions through the official hashtag, #ehfSC. Participants are encouraged to be active online in the build-up and during the event and by doing so spreading news of the conference to a wider audience.
