Montpellier's stunning success sends shockwaves around the world

Montpellier HB left many handball fans in awe with their heroic run to the VELUX EHF Champions League title on Sunday. And not just fans at LANXESS arena in Cologne or back home in France.

Coach Patrice Canayer’s side, which won club handball’s most coveted trophy for a second time after 2003, defeated Nantes 32:27 on Sunday night to impress a global audience.

One of the leading indoor sports events in Europe, the VELUX EHF FINAL4 2018 Final gained a lot of international media coverage. Of course in France, but also in the home countries of foreign Montpellier players like Diego Simonet (Argentina), Nikola Portner (Switzerland), Mohamed Mamdouh Hashem (Egypt) or Jonas Truchanovicius (Lithuania).
