Nexe shake off first half struggles to remain unbeaten

It took 30 minutes for Nexe to show their true colours against Rabotnik in round 3 of the Men’s EHF Cup Group Phase, but after a difficult first half, the Croatians managed to keep their 100 % record with a five-goal victory.

  • Nexe had a 61% shot efficiency, while Rabotnik could only score 18 goals from their 42 shots
  • Goalkeeper Moreno Car inspired Nexe with impressive saves in key moments
  • Marin Sipic scored seven goals with 100% efficiency for Nexe
  • Vladislav Ostroushko only managed to convert six of his 13 attempts for Rabotnik

GROUP B
RK Nexe (CRO) vs HC Eurofarm Rabotnik (MKD) 23:18 (10:10)

Nexe had a quick start, leading 4:1 after six minutes, but then Rabotnik grew into the game and began to cause more and more problems to their opponents.

The Croatians made it hard for themselves as well with countless mistakes and misplaced passes in offence as they struggled to find a way through the Macedonian defence.

Moreno Car in the Nexe goal made spectacular saves to keep his side on level terms and ensured that the two teams went for a break with nothing to separate them (10:10).

The home squad showed a completely different side of their play in the second half as they developed a four-goal advantage in the opening 10 minutes of the period with the help of Marin Sipic, who netted six without missing.

As the game wore on, Rabotnik started to lose their pace and focus, which gave the chance to the Croatians to finish off their opponents and remain unbeaten to take a five-goal win as new Rabotnik coach, Stevce Alusevski - who was announced earlier this week – saw what he must do to get his side off the bottom of the group.
