MOTW heads to Nantes for Last 16 return leg

Six matches in this week’s return leg of the VELUX EHF Champions League Last 16 will decide which teams are joining already-qualified Barça Lassa and Paris Saint-Germain HB in the quarter-finals.

The French-German clash between HBC Nantes and Rhein-Neckar Löwen on Saturday has now been confirmed as the Match of Week. The game in the Palais des Sports de Beaulieu in Nantes throws off at 19:00 CET and will be streamed live on ehfTV.com with English commentary from Chris O’Reilly.

Nantes stunned the handball world by reaching the final last year. But to maintain their hopes of another visit to the VELUX EHF FINAL4, coach Thierry Anti’s team will have to make up a two-goal difference from their 34:32 defeat in the first leg against Löwen last Wednesday.

The German side has failed to go beyond the Last 16 in each of the past four seasons. After beating Nantes last week, they will be eager to take the next step and reach the quarter-finals this time.
