Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2009 Men's World Championship qualification Europe were played over the last few days.

Only the winner of each group qualifies for the play-off matches, however, all seven groups are still open regarding rank 1 and 2 and therefore all remaining matches are of a deciding factor. The matches will resume on Wednesday, January 16, 2007.
The draw for the Play-off matches will take place on Sunday, January 27, 2007, in Lillehammer/Norway on the occasion of the final day of the EHF Euro 2008 in Norway.

Last weekend EHF Marketing, in cooperation with Laola TV, launched a new service. Two top matches of the EHF Champions League, Ivry vs Kiel and Montpellier vs Gummersbach, were brought to handball fans live on the ehfCL.com website by adidas.
The initiative proved to be a success with 30,000 visits over the weekend, 60% of them German handball enthusiasts watching the games live.
