For the last few weeks more has been at stake than the results in the handball arena for the hundreds of thousand fans following the VELUX EHF Champions League.

On the website handballenergy.com VELUX EHF Champions League title sponsor, the VELUX Group, has made it possible for handball fans from all over Europe to support their favourite team in a competition and win 3,000 euro for the team’s official fan club.

Website crashed due to overwhelming fan support

On Tuesday evening, during the last hours of competition, fans were voting in huge numbers to ensure that their fan club would take home the prize. So much so that it actually caused a technical issue that made handballenergy.com crash and forced the VELUX Group to end the competition a few hours earlier than expected. 

Throughout the last day of the fan competition, KS VIVE Targi Kielce and MKB Veszprém KC, were neck and neck and way out in front of any of the other teams.

At 20.00 hrs both teams had received about 7,500 votes and the two clubs were divided by only a few votes.

Therefore and due to technical problems, the VELUX Group has decided to declare both the fan club of KS VIVE Targi Kielce and the fan club of MKB Veszprém KC as winners of the competition.

The VELUX Group has decided to throw in an additional 3,000€, so that both fan clubs will receive 3,000€ to be spent on fan activities at a VELUX EHF Champions League match.
