Draw procedure for 2013 Women's 19 European Championship

The draw for the qualification groups for the 2013 Women's 19 European Championship will take place in Vienna, Austria, on 23 October 2012 at approximately 14:00 hrs.

31 nations have entered for  the tournament that will be played in Denmark from 1 to 11 August 2013.

Three nations have already qualified: Denmark as the organiser as well as the second ranked team from the 2011 Women's 17 European Championship. Norway as the winner of the same tournament and Russia as the third ranked nation in 2011.

A total of 28 teams will therefore play in the qualification and vie for 13 open places which will be decided in qualification tournaments.

Draw procedure

There will be seven groups of four teams each. From Group 1 to 6 two teams will qualify, one team will qualify from Group 7.   

The teams are seeded based on the ranking of the 2011 Women's 17 European Championship in the Czech Republic and the respective qualification.

Hungary, France, Sweden, Romania, Netherlands and Croatia are already placed in row 1 of Groups 1 to 6.

Pot 1: Austria, Czech Republic, Spain, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia

Pot 2: Bulgaria, Iceland, Israel, Lithuania, Montenegro, Slovenia, Turkey

Pot 3: Armenia, Finland, Great Britain, Italy, Moldova, Serbia, Switzerland, Ukraine

The draw for the teams having the right to organise the qualification tournaments, which will take place from 17 to 19 May 2013, will take place after the draw for the qualification groups.
