Follow the first draw of new season

Exactly one month after Vive Tauron Kielce’s triumph in Cologne concluded the 2015/16 club season the first important date of the upcoming season has come as the qualification draw both for the VELUX EHF Champions League and the Women’s EHF Champions League takes place at the EHF Office in Vienna.

The event starts on Wednesday at 13:00 hrs with the draw of semi-final pairings in the women’s continental top flight as 12 participants will be divided into three groups.

For the first time the right to host the tournaments will not be drawn, but will be awarded to the top seeded teams – Glassverket IF, RK Krim Mercator and HC Leipzig. Only if these teams will decide not to take this opportunity the right will be passed to teams in Pot 2, then Pot 3 and at the end Pot 4.

In the VELUX EHF Champions League Qualification there are eight teams vying for two places in the group phase with Slovenian runners-up Gorenje Velenje and the reigning Challenge Cup winers ABC/UMinho seeded in the top pot. The hosting right for the tournament will be drawn.

Where to follow

Apart from the live ticker on eurohandball.com, there will be an extensive coverage on @ehfcl Twitter account and the whole event will also be streamed on Facebook Live.

The VELUX EHF Champions League group phase draw and the Women’s EHF Champions League draw will follow on Friday 1 July in Glostrup, Denmark.
