Meetings precede the Ordinary Congress

The 9th Ordinary EHF Congress will take place on 26-27 September 2008 in Vienna, Austria.

The members of the European Handball Federation have arrived already on Wednesday evening to the venue of the Congress. The reason for the early arrival is to utilise Thursday to hold a number of meetings and discuss the last open questions before the 9th Ordinary EHF Congress.

Meetings scheduled for Thursday, 25 September:

1. Competitions Commission Meeting
The last CC Meeting preceding the new elections will focus on the changes in the CC structure: National Team Committee and the Men’s and Women’s Club Committee matters will be discussed.

There will also be various current matters on the agenda, such as the club competitions or EURO 2008 and 2010 developments.

2. Methods Commission Meeting
Coaching, education and training, youth and non-competitive sport, EHF CAN matters will be part of the agenda. In addition, the MC members will also prepare for the two most important upcoming events on their field during the Congress: the Rinck Convention signing with Switzerland and the SMART Project signing with Georgia

3. EHF Finance Delegation Meeting

4. Comptrollers’ Meeting
The members will prepare the Comptrollers’ Report to be presented at the Congress. The 2008 Budget will also be discussed at the meeting.

5. Court of Appeal Meeting
The focus of the meeting will be on the New Legal System of the EHF based on the Arbitration Tribunal and EHF Court of Arbitration.

6. EHF Marketing GmbH General Assembly
The General Assembly will listen to the reports presented by the EHF Marketing Managing Director, by the EHF Delegation and by the Comptrollers’ Council. The Budget for the 2008/09 period will also be presented.

7. Executive Committee Meeting
The last meeting of the Executive Committee before the election Congress will be centred around two important topics: regular EHF business matters and Congress preparation.

The series of meetings will continue on Saturday 27 September after the 9th Ordinary Congress with the first brief sessions of the newly elected committees.
