Metz reaching out for the title

After their 35:31 away win against Team Tvis Holstebro in the first leg, the players of Metz Handball are so close to taking the EHF Cup title that they can almost feel it with their finger tips before the second match in Les Arenes of Metz Sunday evening. The final duel of the competition can be followed live and free of charge on ehfTV.com on Sunday, 12 May at 18:00 hrs local time.

Having a four goal lead with them from Denmark and even having scored no less than 35 away goals, have put the current number one in French women's handball into an extremely good position before entering the court in the Les Arenes in front of close to 5000 spectators.

It is no wonder that the Danish visitors realise the tough conditions, seen from their angle, but still they find that they can spot chances to turn the tables.

“There is no doubt that we were up against a team who were better on the day in the first leg, and a team which could undoubtedly have done very well in the Champions League. However, there is still a lot of room for improvement in our play compared to the first match, not least in our defence, where we should be better at keeping our agreements. I also thing we can do better against their way of defending.

We can play without any pressure, though, and we are really looking forward to playing this European final in front of 5000 spectators in France,” Holstebro's head coach Niels Agesen told eurohandball.com.
