"Noka" resigns as Celje coach

Zvonimir "Noka" Serdarušić resigned as Celje Pivovarna Laško coach after their second defeat in the Slovenian championship. His successor is not yet known.

An earthquake happened in Celje after their last defeat in the Slovenian championship this season. Celje lost against Škofja Loka, a team ranked fifth, on Saturday.

Coach Zvonimir "Noka" Serdarušić offered a resignation immediately after the match, the Board of Directors accepted it on Tuesday. The coach informed his players about him leaving Celje at their morning training session.

Serdarušić became Celje's coach this February after the EHF EURO 2010 in Austria, where he was also leading the Slovenian national team. But a few weeks ago he resigned as national team coach.

"In the last time I have had many conversations with players because I wanted to rise the level of our playing skills. But they did not help, obviously, and the situation went to far from being ok. So I see my resignation as the only solution," Serdarušić said direct after the resignation.

Celje's new coach is planned to be confirmed this week.
