Prepared for a tough battle

Györ coach Csaba Konkoly knows how much work the players have done for the final victory. He talks to Eurohandball.com before the decisive battle.

Eurohandball.com: What is the form of the team in your view?

Konkoly: I believe that every player has done all the work to ensure that they will be able to give their best in the Final. Our aim is to win this game that could be seen as a Final decided in one leg.

Eurohandball.com: You have been training in Veszprém Aréna for two days. Could you get used to it?

Konkoly: We received a big help from the Hotel Ramada of Balatonalmádi who ensured ideal conditions for us. The management and the players of Veszprém have also welcomed us in a very friendly manner. We had to get used to the flooring and to the dimensions of the hall. The four trainings helped in it.

Eurohandball.com: Do you think the girls get the away victory out of their heads?

Konkoly: We will start the game as if we had lost there. We must play for the victory and prepare for a tough battle. We will not calculate and go for a draw or a one-goal defeat. We work for a victory.

Eurohandball.com: Do you think Viborg will prepare for those who played well in Denmark?

Konkoly: Definitely. We also try to learn from the first game and rectify the mistakes we made.We must not commit technical mistakes because Viborg punish us immediately. At the same time they also prepare to win the title.

Eurohandball.com: The Danes prepare for an even more aggressive defence.

Konkoly: We ask for no mercy and we give none. This is part of modern handball. We expected a similarly tough battle in the semi-final against Hypo. In this sense, those games were good lessons before the Final. We will not be caught by surprise and anyway, we could be successful in Viborg...
