Registration for three 2012 YAC events commences

The registration is now open for national federations who would like to participate at the 2012 Men’s 18 and Men’s 20 European Championships as well as for the Women’s U20 World Championship Qualification Europe.

2012 Men’s 18 European Championship in Austria

The tournament is open to players born 1994 and younger and will be carried out between 12 and 22 July 2012. Playing venues will be Bregenz and Hard.

The final tournament of the Men’s 18 European Championship will be played with 16 teams divided into four Preliminary Round groups with four teams each, followed by a Main Round and an Intermediate Round, and by Cross Matches, Placement Matches, Semi-finals and Finals.

Only the team from hosting nation Austria is qualified, all other teams have to go through qualification, battling for 15 places. The qualification matches will be carried out between 30 March and 1 April 2012.

The seeding of the qualification groups will be composed of the entries received, based on the results of the 2010 Men’s 18 European Championship in Montenegro.

Deadline for the registration is 30 August 2011. The draw for the qualification groups will take place on 17/18 November 2011 on the occasion of the 20th EHF anniversary in Vienna.

2012 Men’s 20 European Championship in Turkey

The tournament is open to players born 1992 and younger and will be carried out between 5 and 15 July 2012. Playing venues will be Ankara and Eskisehir.

The final tournament of the Men’s 20 European Championship will be played with 16 teams divided into four Preliminary Round groups with four teams each, followed by a Main Round and an Intermediate Round, and by Cross Matches, Placement Matches, Semi-finals and Finals.

Three teams are already qualified, hosting nation Turkey plus Croatia and Spain as first and second ranked nations from the 2010 Men’s 18 European Championship in Montenegro. All other teams have to go through qualification, battling for 13 places. The qualification matches will be carried out between 6 and 8 April 2012.

The seeding of the qualification groups will be composed of the entries received, based on the results of the 2010 Men’s 18 European Championship in Montenegro.

2012 Women’s U20 World Championship in the Czech Republic - Qualification Europe

The IHF tournament is open to players born 1992 and younger and will be carried out between 1 and 15 July 2012. The EHF has the responsibility for organising the qualification in Europe.

The final tournament of the Men’s 20 European Championship will be played with 16 teams divided into four Preliminary Round groups with four teams each, followed by a Main Round and an Intermediate Round, and by Cross Matches, Placement Matches, Semi-finals and Finals.

Three places from Europe are already secured, qualified are hosting nation Czech Republic plus the two best ranked teams of the 2011 Women’s 19 European Championship in the Netherlands, that will be carried out between 4 and 14 August 2011 with the playing venues Amelo, Arnhem, Leek, Maastricht and Rotterdam.

All other teams have to go through qualification. The qualification matches will be carried out between 6 and 8 April 2012. The seeding of the qualification groups will be composed of the entries received, based on the results of the 2011 Women’s 19 European Championship in the Netherlands.

Deadline for the registration is 30 August 2011. The draw for the qualification groups will take place on 17/18 November 2011 on the occasion of the 20th EHF anniversary in Vienna. The draw of the Final Tournament will be carried out by the IHF, the date of the draw is not confirmed yet.
