Royal opening of the Congress

The 10th Ordinary EHF Congress that takes place on 24th - 25th September 2010 in Copenhagen, Denmark was officially opened. Among the guests of honour was also his Royal Highness, the Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark:

“I am a big handball fan. In my country of Denmark we have a long tradition of handball, and we are also very proud of being one of the co-founders of this fantastic sport. Over the last 15 years handball has been developing and becoming tremendously popular and important. Especially women’s handball has a very big foundation on a club level as well as on a national level. We have a large amount of players, not only in our own leagues but also in leagues abroad. Not too many countries have that, and it makes us proud.”

“Sport adds value to life, no matter whether you are a professional or on a lower level. It helps everyone to grow as a person in terms of fair play, excellence and respect. I command you to be committed to create the best decisions for handball. Therefore I wish you the best of luck in shaping the future of the inspiring game of handball.”

After the official opening the Congress has now taken up the next points on the agenda.
