It is still unsure whether Christian Zeitz and Nikola Karabatic will be able to play this evening against Montpellier, a key match for the first place in the group.
Doubts about Karabatic and Zeitz
The series of injuries is not yet over for THW Kiel: it’s still unsure whether Christian Zeitz and Nikola Karabatic will be able to play this evening against Montpellier. The game will be a decisive encounter for the first place of the group.
“There’s still no decision, whether they can play,” said THW's press spokesman, Björn Goos, to Eurohandball.com.
Zeitz and Karabtic clashed against each other in last week’s match against Hammarby just four minutes before the end. Both have shoulder injuries now.
“It looks a little bit better for Karabatic; Zeitz seems not be able to play,” says team doctor Detlev Brandecker.
Zeitz and Karabatic just came back in Stockholm after other injuries (Zeitz had a hip operation, Karabatic had a shoulder injury).
Especially Karabatic, who was injured in the first match against Montpellier, is eagerly willing to play against his former club.
“It’s a question of honour,” said the headline of the newspaper “Kieler Nachrichten” today. But the final decision will be brought short before the match by the team doctors.
