Women’s European Cup Final

The first leg matches of the Final of Women's Challenge Cup, Women's Cup Winners' Cup and Women’s EHF Cup were carried out on Sunday.


Women’s European Cup Final

On Sunday 08 May 2011 the first leg matches in the Final of the Women's Challenge Cup, Women's Cup Winners' Cup and Women’s EHF Cup were played. All three matches ended with home victories.

2010/11 Women's Challenge Cup – Final

Mios Biganos (FRA) vs. Muratpasa Belediyesi SK (TUR) 31:26 (12:13)

The sensation team from Turkey had drawn 2,400 spectators to the Salle Jean Daugnet in Bordeaux. In a tight first half, the home team struggled to take the lead, was even down one goal at the break. That changed in second half when the French team managed to achieve a five-goal margin for the return game against a Turkish side that was also weakened by a red card for their FYR Macedonia line player Lenche Ilkova.

2010/11 Women's Cup Winners' Cup – Final

FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria (HUN) vs. C.B. Mar Alicante (ESP) 34:29 (17:12)

With a strong team performance, the Hungarian side defeated their Spanish opponents with a five-goal margin. The game was already pre-decided in first half, where the home team satisfied the 2,500 spectators in the Dabas-Diego Sportcsarnok with powerful gameplay. The guests had almost nothing to hold against them – except for Isabel Maria Ortuno Torrico, who scored an impressive 14 goals.

2010/11 Women's EHF Cup – Final

FC Midtjylland Handball (DEN) vs. Team Tvis Holstebro (DEN) 28:21 (13:10)

In the all-Danish final, the home team – led by sharp shooting Tine Troelsen – managed to produce a comfortable seven-goal margin for the return game. Sportcenter Ikast, crowded with 2,500 spectators, were witnessing a final on high level. For the return game in Holstebro, Team Tvis Holstebro will need to improve their performance in order to win the trophy.
