28 teams vie for nine spots at the 2013 Men's U21 World Championship


Organisers for Qualification Europe tournaments named

The European Handball Federation has awarded the tournaments for the Qualification Europe for the 2013 Men's U21 World Championship in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Qualification Europe matches will be played in a tournament format at one venue from 4 to 6 January 2013.

  • Group 1 with Slovenia, Iceland, Netherlands and Ukraine will be organised by the Netherlands
  • Group 2 with Sweden, Portugal, Hungary and Belgium will be organised by Hungary
  • Group 3 with Denmark, Serbia, Slovakia and Greece will be organised by Slovakia
  • Group 4 with Germany, Czech Republic, Finland and Austria will be organised by Germany
  • Group 5 with Norway, France, Montenegro and Estonia will be organised by Montenegro
  • Group 6 with Switzerland, Poland, Belarus and Italy will be organised by Belarus
  • Group 7 with Russia, Turkey, Israel and Romania will be organised by Romania

Two teams will qualify from Group 1 and 2, while one team each will qualify from Groups 3 to 7.

The first substitute is the second ranked team in Group 3. The second substitute is the second ranked team in Group 4 and the third substitute is the third ranked team in Group 5.

The 2013 Men's U21 World Championship in Bosnia and Herzegovina will take place from 14 to 28 July 2013.
