The reigning trophy holders Lada Togliatti awarded a default win and a ticket to the Last 16.


Sassari withdraw from Women´s EHF Cup

After having qualified for the 2012/13 Women's EHF Cup Round 3 last month, the club ASD Sassari Citta dei Candelieri officially informed the EHF that they have to withdraw from the competition.

The Italian club should have played the first leg of the Round 3 against Russia´s Lada Togliatti on the upcoming weekend, 10-11 November on the home court and the second leg one week later in Russia.

The European Handball Federation will handover this case to the Legal Department within the EHF Office to take further steps.

In Round 2 Sassari eliminated Bnei Hertzeliya from Israel after two wins - 30:24, 33:25 with both legs played in Sardinia.

After their withdrawal the reigning trophy holders from Lada were awarded with default win 20:0 and qualified for the Last 16.

In total, 30 teams will be in action in the Round 3 of the Women´s EHF Cup.
