Preliminary delegation lists for 2013 European Beach Handball Championship confirmed
With just a bit more than a week to go until the 2013 European Beach Handball Championship throw off in Randers, Denmark, from 9 to 14 July, the question of which players will take to the court is a hotly discussed one among the 13 teams which take part in the men's and women's event respectively.
All of them were obliged to hand in their preliminary delegation lists to the European Handball Federation.
On the occasion of the first technical meeting on 9 July 2013, just hours before the final tournament throws off, the number of players has to be reduced to a maximum of ten.
These ten players have to stem from the names mentioned earlier on the preliminary delegation list.
Arguably the most prolific player at the 2013 European Beach Handball Championship is Hans Lindberg, winner of the VELUX EHF Champions League and also the competition's top scorer in the 2012/13 season, who was nominated for the Danish men's team.
However, it can be expected that Croatia, Russia and Spain, the teams ranked first to third in the men's event at the 2011 European Championship, as well as as Croatia, Denmark and Italy, their counterparts in the women's event in 2011, well send strong teams to Randers as well.
