REVIEW: In the men's event BHC SKKM-EKATERINODAR from Russia remain unbeaten, while the defending women's champions, OVB - Beach Girls, will only play for seventh place
Semi-finalists confirmed at 2015 ebt Finals
While the favourites prevailed in the men's event on day two of the ebt Finals in Budaörs, the women's event saw its first surprise with defending champions OVB - Beach Girls only placing fourth in Group A.
In the men's event local club Budaörs Beach Stars were not able to capitalise on their two wins from Friday. Subsequent losses against defending champions Detono Zagreb and Spanish side Club Balonmano Playa Algeciras meant that they only finished third in Group A and will play for 5th place on Sunday.
The semi-finalists from Group A are Zagreb and Algeciras who qualified with six points each.
Zagreb's opponents tomorrow will be BHC SKKM-EKATERINODAR. The Russians are the only men's team that have remained unbeaten in the competition - they have not even lost a single set yet.
Second ranked in Group B and hence the opponents of Algeciras are Hungarian club Dinamit BHC.
In the women's event the first surprise came on Saturday afternoon when the OVB - Beach Girls lost 0:2 against Detono Zagreb In Group A and therefore had to give up all hopes of making it to the competition's semi-finals.
For the Croatian side, however, this was a vital win as it saw them finishing second in the group only behind BHT Piotrkowianin Juko Piotrków Trybunalski from Poland.
In Group B Agenta Girls from Hungary did their best to follow in the Beach Girls' footsteps as they won all their four matches and qualified in first place. They will meet Zagreb in the semi-final.
The second semi-final will be played between BHT Piotrkowianin Juko Piotrków Trybunalski and Paksoft Camelot from Netherlands who won their last match on Saturday evening 2:1 against OVB.
