Ademar lose Borges before the knock-out stage starts

Felipe Borges is not a player of Reale Ademar León anymore. With and immediate effect and just several days before the first match of the VELUX EHF Champions League Last 16 against Veszprém (Sunday 17 March), the Brasilian left winger transferred to the still reigning French champions Montpellier Agglomération HB.

Spanish club faces financial problems which made this departure nearly impossible to avoid. León lost his second best scorer, since the winger has scored 31 goals this season and nine of them in the matches against Montpellier.

In Borges the French club got a quality replacement for Maxime Arvin-Berod, who injured his knee last week and will be out for eight months.

"I have played against Montpellier four times in the past, so I know the club pretty well. It is really a big European club and it's a great opportunity for me. It's true that the timing is really strange, but León's financial problems have made my departure quicker than it was meant to be," Borges said for the official website of Montpellier.

His new team are trailing by seven points behind the leading Paris HB and sitting three points ahead of Dunkerque in the race for the ticket in the next season of the VELUX EHF Champions League.
