EHF CL seeding lists published
The preparations for the 2009/10 EHF Champions League season are in full swing. The registration deadline for the clubs has passed on 9 June. With the Qualification Draw coming up on Thursday, 18 June and the EHF Champions League Draw on Wednesday, 24 June 2009, the European Handball Federation has published the EHF Champions League seeding lists for the 2009/10 season.

The lists include crucial information ahead of the upcoming season – the list of the teams directly qualifying for the competition as well as those taking part in the Qualification Tournaments.
Men’s CL – reformed competition format
The adjusted format of the Men’s EHF CL involves 24 teams taking part in the Group Phase. 19 teams have qualified directly, while the remaining five places will be awarded for the winners of the qualification tournaments (4-6 September 2009).
The Executive Committee of the EHF has decided on the organisation of a Wild Card Qualifier for the four teams receiving a wild card. This tournament will take place parallel to the other Qualification Tournaments.
EHF Champions League Group Phase Draw
The draw for the EHF CL Group Phase for both men and women will be carried out on 24 June.
The Group Phase of the men’s competition will be played with four groups of six teams each. In the draw there will be 6 pots with 4 teams each which will be drawn to row 1-6.
The winner of the Wild Card Qualifier will be seeded in position 16 and they will be part of Pot 4. The four winners of the further qualification tournaments will form Pot 6.
The Group Phase of the women’s competition will include four groups of four teams which will be divided into four pots for the draw.
Team rejected
The Italian champion, Italgest Casarano, was not accepted for the Men’s 2009/10 EHF Champions League season due to non-fulfilment of obligations.
