Metz Handball versus Viborg HK A/S match result confirmed

EHF Statement

Following the Women’s Cup Winners’ Cup between Metz Handball and Viborg HK A/S played on 14 November 2015, a protest was made to the match delegate by the Viborg HK A/S delegation, who believed that the final score should have been 26:24 (in favour of Metz) and not 26:23 as recorded on the official match report.

The EHF has reviewed the complete video of the match as part of its verification process and confirmed that the goal of Marie-Paul Gnabouyou (No. 4), scored in the second half following her team’s first timeout, was not recorded on the scoreboard in the arena or the official match report.

The final score of the match has therefore now been officially confirmed as 26:24 (11:11).

Both Metz Handball and Viborg HK A/S have cooperated completely with this process and, in the spirit of fair play, have accepted the revised scoreline.

The two teams will meet for the return leg of the match on 21 November 2015.
