Beach Handball World Championship in Oman
The 5th Women’s & Men’s Beach Handball World Championship, organised by the International Handball Federation, will be staged at Al-Musannah Sports City in Oman, which was also the venue of the 2010 Asian Beach Games.
Reigning champions, Brazil (Men) and Norway (Women), will defend their titles from Friday 6 July to Friday 13 July 2012.
Men’s tournament:
Group A: Brazil, Russia, Ukraine, Oman, Bahrain, Australia
Group B: Croatia, Egypt, Spain, Qatar, Uruguay, Kuwait
Women’s tournament:
Group A: Croatia, Denmark, Italy, China, Uruguay, Australia
Group B: Norway, Brazil, Hungary, Thailand, Poland, Singapore

After the preliminary round, the first three teams of each group will proceed to the main round before playing semi-finals and the final.
