First draw of VELUX EHF Champions League season
The EHF Office in Vienna will be the venue for the first draw of the season as the qualification rounds of the VELUX EHF Champions League and Women's EHF Champions League 2012/13 season take place on Tuesday, 3 July from 11.00 am.
Both draws can be followed via the eurohandball.com Live Ticker and also through the @EHFMedia Twitter Channel.
The draw for the Women's EHF Champions League will start at 11.00 hrs.
VELUX EHF Champions League Qualification
14 teams will go for qualification, which will be played in three qualification groups of four teams each. The winner of each goes through the Group Phase.
Each Qualification Tournaments will be played over the weekend 8/9 September 2012 with semi-finals on Saturday and final and 3/4 match on Sunday.
In addition, one team from pot 1 will play a knock-out match (home and away) against a team from pot 4. The winner will go through to the Group Phase.

Draw procedure
The draw will be made from the following pots:
Pot 1:
HCM Constanta (ROU)
RK Sloga (BIH)
HC Metalurg (MKD)
HC Dinamo Minsk (BLR)
Pot 2:
Tatran Presov (SVK)
Haslum HK (NOR
RK Partizan (SRB)
Pot 3:
HC Dinamo-Poltava (UKR)
FC Porto (POR)
Maccabi Srugo Rishon LeZion (ISR)
Pot 4:
Alpla HC Hard (AUT)
Besiktas JK (TUR)
HC Lovcen (MNE)
SSV Bozen (ITA)
The pots will be drawn as follows:
Pot 4 to row 4 (three teams only – one remaining), pot 3 to row 3, pot 2 to row 2, pot 1 to row 1 (three teams only – one remaining).
The two remaining teams from pot 1 and pot 4 will play a knock-out match (on a home and away basis). A draw will be made for the home right in the second leg.
Wildcard Tournament
The playing schedule for the Wildcard tournament has been decided based on the rankings of the teams. This will be played on the weekend 8/9 September in the following format:
HSV Hamburg (GER) versus Orlen Wisla Plock (POL)
St. Raphael Var Handball (FRA) versus Bjerringbro-Silkeborg (DEN)
Semi-finals will be played on Saturday, 8 September 2012 and final and 3/4 play-off match on Sunday, 9 September 2012.
Group Phase draw
The draw for the VELUX EHF Champions League Group Phase and Women’s EHF Champions League will take place at the headquarters of adidas in Herzogenaurach on Friday 6 July 2012. The event will be streamed live at ehfTV.com from 11.00 hrs (CET)
