European Handball Federation

The European Handball Federation has introduced a club ranking in the men's and women's EHF club competitions.

Clubs are ranked according to their achievements, respectively the collected points in the previous three European cup seasons (currently 2025/26, 2024/25, 2023/24).

Besides being a factor in the catalogue of criteria for the admission to the EHF Champions League, the ranking is used to decide on the seeding of a club when it comes to the respective competition draw (EHF European Cup excluded). The ranking does not decide about the participation.

The two tables below show the top 15 men's and women's clubs. The full rankings valid at the time of publication are available for download below the respective table.

The calculation

To establish the EHF Club Ranking, the most recent three seasons in the EHF club competitions are considered. Each club earns points based on its results within the EHF Champions League, EHF European League and/or the EHF European Cup.

Points are earned for successfully finishing a round within the competition and by winning or drawing in matches during the season. A win earns 2 points, while a draw earns 1 point. The document below outlines the process in more detail and shows the bonus points that can be earned for winning in a certain round within the different competitions.
