EHF Excellence Awards
Every year, the EHF Excellence Awards honour the best players — both male and female — in each playing position: Goalkeeper, left wing, left back, centre back, right back, right wing line player and best defender. Those eight players form the "Team of the Season."
Out of these eight positions, a season MVP is selected for both genders. The respective season's two best beach handball players — one man, one woman — as well as the best male and the best female young players are also awarded.
At the conclusion of the European club handball season each year, a group of EHF experts selects male and female nominees in each position. An online vote involving players, coaches, media and fans then takes place to determine the "Team of the Season," with each stakeholder group accounting for 25 per cent of the vote.
