11th EHF Congress opened

The 11th EHF Congress in Monaco has been officially opened by EHF President, Tor Lian, who confirmed the full attendance of all 50 member federations and one associated federation.

The President of the Federation Monegasque de Handball, Claude Cellario on behalf of Prince Albert II welcomed all delegates.

He said, "Prince Albert II, as a former handball player and a member of International Olympic Committee acknowledges the importance of handball not only in Europe but in the whole world."

It enables a dialogue between various communities and Olympic champions from this sport inspire the youth."

The Ministry of State Michel Roger and the representative of the Palace Joel Bouzou also greeted the delegates from 51 countries.

In the opening part of the Congress Dr. Hassan Moustafa also took floor.

The President of the International Handball Federation acknowledged the role of the European handball as a front-runner of this sport in the world and praised the cooperation between EHF and IHF during Tor Lian´s tenure.
