2011/12 European Cup place distribution

The EHF has dealt with basic issues and matters for the 2011/12 season, and decided on the general distribution of places for the four EHF club competitions.

There were some changes in the positions on the ranking list as a result of the performance of the teams over the last three seasons.

On the women’s side, the top places remain unchanged. Sweden made it to position 25, and will consequently have one place in the EHF Champions League, taking it from Bosnia-Herzegovina.

On the men’s side, at the crucial positions 1-6 there was no change. The only major rearrangement is that Israel is now on position 27 and therefore has one place in the VELUX EHF Champions League, a place that Estonia has lost.
