Eleventh nation registers interest

The EHF can confirm that a further nation, Romania, has registered its interest in applying to host the Women’s EHF EURO 2012.

Taking place from 4-16 December 2012, the 10th Women’s EHF European Championship was due to taking place in the Netherlands until the withdrawal from the event of the Dutch Handball Federation on 4 June.

So far 11 nations have expressed an interest in organising the event including: Croatia, Denmark, FYR Macedonia, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Sweden.

The EHF will announce in the next two weeks, which nation will host the event and the team that will take the sixteenth place reserved for the host nation.
