Ukrainian Handball Federation: clarification of status
Following a period of uncertainty regarding which body was the officially recognised representative of the sport in the Ukraine, the EHF has now clarified the status of the Ukrainian Handball Federation
For some time the EHF has received contradictory information about the status of the federation and has sought to clarify this situation with handball officials in the country and the relevant sports and sports-political bodies.
On 31 October 2014, the EHF received a copy of a letter sent to the International Handball Federation from the President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine establishing Mr Andriy Melnyk and Mrs Turchyna as the official representatives of the Ukrainian Handball Federation.
Following a meeting with the International Handball Federation on 13 November 2014, the EHF has now confirmed that it recognises the federation under the leadership of its president, Andriy Melnik, as its member federation in the Ukraine.

It is a principle of the EHF not to interfere in the internal affairs of the national federation and its mission can only to encourage solidarity and mutual understanding between all those involved in handball.
The EHF therefore wishes to express its belief that all protagonists in Ukrainian handball will find a way of joining forces and working together in the best interests of the sport.
