Since the beginning of the 2016/17 season, SELECT SPORT has been providing the European Handball Federation with the official match balls for its club and national team competitions.
Following the use of SELECT balls at the Women’s EHF EURO 2016 in Sweden and at the upcoming Men’s EHF EURO 2018, the Women’s EHF EURO 2018 will be the third EHF EURO to be played with balls manufactured by the Danish company.
As the final tournament hits its ‘1 year to go’ mark on 29 November 2017, it was deemed a fitting occasion to release the design of the Women’s EHF EURO 2018 official match ball.
The Women’s EHF EURO 2018 will throw off with a match of hosts France on 29 November 2018 in Nancy.
The official match ball, which is part of SELECT’s high-quality ULTIMATE series, has been designed exclusively for the championship in France.
It features the competition as well as the EHF logo. Light-blue, purple and white – colours which are dominant in the event CI – are also the key colours in which the ball’s panels have been designed.
Just like any other SELECT ball, the official match ball for the EHF EURO 2018 consists of 32 panels, 20 hexagons and 12 pentagons, ensuring a perfect roundness, reliable aerodynamics, a straight flight and a controlled bounce.
Furthermore, every ULTIMATE ball is stitched by hand. The 32 panels are sewn together using 540 double stitches and 60 corner stitches and are closed off (especially for SELECT) with a double knot.
